Buffalo, New York native and national recording artist Katie Flemming discovered her love of music and dance at the young age of two years-old. She had her first solo performance at age four. Since then she has sung in front of over 100,000 people. Her status as a vocal performer has opened many doors, including a personal invitation to attend the Grammy’s in Los Angeles.
Katie has performed the U.S. and Canadian National Anthems to audiences as large as 20,000 at events and locations such as: the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., the NCAA National Championships, U.S.A. Olympic Sled Hockey games, the Buffalo Bison’s baseball games, USA Hockey All-American Prospect Game-Buffalo Sabres, USO, National Christian Music Festival-Kingdom Bound, and many Veteran and military events.
As a dancer, she has participated in the Nutcracker Ballet alongside Principal Ballet dancers from the New York City and Boston Ballet. She has been featured in local and national TV and print media, and was selected as one of the “Great Kids” in Western New York by WGRZ TV. In addition, Katie has been featured as a as a reporter for a National Student Magazine, Investigative Reporter for a hometown TV show for PBS, and featured in several TV commercials.
Katie’s awards have included three National Awards: the Presidential Volunteer Service Award, National Citizenship Award, and the Presidential Award of Academic Excellence. In addition, Katie received two scholarships for Kohl’s Cares and was also recognized and invited to attend organized events in Washington DC, which focus on the best ways young people can impact local communities.
She has been an elected committee member for her high schools’ Community Service Committee as well as a Bridge Mentor for incoming students transitioning from other communities and countries. Most recently, Katie received a lifetime achievement award from Missouri Governor Eric Greitens for volunteering over 1,000 hours all by age 16! Katie has organized student chorus teams to perform and volunteer around the state and has participated in several select local and regional choirs including her church’s youth worship band.
Katie’s music has been featured on iTunes since 2012, including her full album which debuted in 2015. A second album is set to be released early 2018. Katie has recorded in studios across the country from New York to Nashville to LA. Her passion is to create original music that inspires others.
Katie’s faith drives her passion for life. She believes that living a life of service can make this world a better place. She is an energetic young lady who believes in the power of dreams. In 2016, Katie founded a non-profit called Katie’s Books for Kids which aims to donate one new or gently used book for each pediatric patient in Children’s Hospitals. During her elementary and middle school years, Katie focused heavily on combating the problem of Children’s hunger. She collected cans of non-perishable food at each birthday party and donated all proceeds to a local food pantry.
She is also a Red-Cross Certified lifeguard and enjoys teaching children how to swim. In her free time, Katie’s other interests include ballet, piano, guitar, writing, working with young children, competitive swimming, and spending time with her friends and family.
